Dursley Lions Club Visit to Cashel During the final weekend of June five Lions from the Dursley Club in south-east England and their partners visited the Cashel Lions Club. It was their third visit to Cashel under a twinning arrangement between the clubs. Back in 2005 Cashel were looking to twin with some club and Dursley had similar ideas. So the two clubs got in contact and the marriage was easily made. The fist contact came from dursley in the person of Ron Robbins and his wife, Margaret. They attended our handover night in June of that year as they happened to be in Ireland on holidays at that time. Arrangements were made for a visit from the club and that took place in October 2005 when five members and their partners arrived. Cashel returned the vist in August 2006, when four members and their partners travelled over to Dursley for a most enjoyable weekend. The Dursley Lions returned the following year and Cashel travelled over a second time in 2008. Willie Fahey has been club liaison with Dursley for all these visits and he has also travelled over to Dursley twice. As well as Willie, Righard Long, Seamus King and Catherine McLoughlin made the trip in 2008. Below is a selection of photographs from the 2009 visit.
